About Vision

Vision is a Christian charity helping to build a more positive youth culture.
Vision has always been run entirely by volunteers who have seen the difference we can make if we stand together for a common purpose. Over the last 15 years, our volunteers have met over 13,000 local children and young people in Rossendale, Lancashire.

For a more positive youth culture

The last decade has seen technology change youth culture beyond recognition. Never before have children been able to access ‘hard-core’ pornography or upload their own images using a mobile device. Never before have school pupils had their lives scrutinised 24 hours a day on social media. Never before has self-harm been so common for teenage girls and boys. This is the tip of the iceberg, and it’s happening on our watch.

It’s against this backdrop of profound loneliness and confusion that Vision dares to present a message of hope. It’s been an immense privilege to have impacted the lives of thousands of young people since our first event in 2002, but we know this is just the beginning. The last 15 years have not been easy; our volunteers face many challenges on a daily basis, but seeing countless young lives transformed makes us even more determined - not simply to keep going, but to reach significantly more young people in the years to come.

Preparing to grow

The re-opening of Woodlea Mission in October 2015 kick-started a new chapter in Vision’s history. Our aim is to make Woodlea a flagship venue for young people while continuing to build links with local churches and schools.
